The event occurred more than a year ago, on August 4 2012. When we finally had the opportunity to wear a yukata, Japanese traditional clothing. If you were already know about the Kimono, yukata is a casual summer kimono, and usually made from cotton or synthetic fabric. The opportunity comes from Friendship Chiyoda, a group of bilingual volunteers, which provide opportunities to foreigners to learn more about the culture of Japan and have better communication with Japan.

They held an event once a month, usually on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays, except in August and December. They provide a various and different event each month. It usually depends on the season, for example, when they usually make a summer event for wearing yukata and dancing on the bon odori festival.

Summer of 2012, we were selected by Friendship Chiyoda of hundreds of foreigners who register to join the event. Our effort for not fall asleep until morning, waiting for registrations were paid off, when in the end we had the opportunity to join the event.

How lucky we are, Caca, our daughter could also join the event and wore a yukata. It was because one of Friendship Chiyoda staff, gave her a yukata. Thank you....
